Mark Twain
I am a personal life coach working with adults and young people with a private practice in Surrey.
I have spent my working life primarily as a commercial hairdresser and hairdressing teacher as well as running my own business. I have spent my professional life talking and listening to people from all walks of life, I feel that the skills and experience that I have gained in my working career support and guide me in my current work as a life coach.
I have a wonderful supportive husband, 3 fabulous step-daughters, 3 grandchildren and a beautiful 10 year old daughter. I strive to be the best I can for all my family to achieve a happy and balanced life.
After having a hairdressing salon for 18 years, I decided it was time for a change. I had learnt so much about people from having my own business, employing a large staff and acknowledging the differences between each persons wants and needs was a interesting learning curve. Balancing this with providing excellent customer service for the clients gave me the skill of building rapport quickly and understanding what people wanted from a visit to the hairdressers. It became very evident that they wanted more than just a haircut, people wanted to talk about their lives.
After taking a year off to travel around Europe with my husband and daughter, I decided that I wanted to get a deeper level of understanding into what made people who they were. So many people I spoke to wanted more from their lives and did not know where to start.
With this in mind, in April 2006 I decided to become a life coach, training with Noble Manhattan one of the largest service providers of coaching in Europe.During the first year of training I continued delivering training for hairdressers in salons and at schools, assessing at NVQ levels 1-3. In July 2007 due to the new found self confidence that I acquired through my own journey of self discovery, an opportunity came up to enhance my learning's by job coaching a man who worked for Proctor and Gamble. This was completely out of my comfort zone having spent all my working life in a small Independent, commercial business. Working for a large corporate company has given me an insight to the corporate sector. Along side my part-time commitment to Proctor and Gamble over the past 2 years I have built my personal life coaching business, coaching people to become the best they could possibly be.
For the future my passion is to work with younger people, I believe that young people should be given better skills to deal with today's society. Young people are very resourceful and given the correct tools they can flourish. Coaching younger people can produce amazing results. I have currently just finished a course with The Youth Coaching Academy.
